Cub Work Session #283

Today continued the process of fitting and installing glass and trim. Especially on the left side, all the glass has to go in before the wings can be put on. Jerry provided some rubber stripping that helped seal the left rear window, so that is now almost complete. The left sliding window was then installed and all the screws that hold all the left side windows together and in place were finally permanently installed. We also worked on the trim pieces that go around the swinging window on the right side. These pieces are new and needed to be drilled and fitted. Jerry got some help on this from one of our new members, Mary Bish. The window was then test fitted to make sure everything lined up and the door was able to close properly. The rear shoulder harness was also permanently installed. The front harness will have a pin to make it removable for solo flying. Finally, we spent a lot of time moving things around the chapter hangar in order to move the fuselage so that it now faces the hangar doors. Some stuff had to be moved next door to the Cub hangar to make room. The Cub is now in position to get its wings, which should happen soon. The next work session will be Saturday, September 14th at 9:00.
