Cub Work Session #282

Many finishing details saw progress today. Chris brought in the pieces of plexiglass he cut and shaped last week. Several of them were fitted today and have been installed permanently or are ready to be installed next time. Katie and Bob spent a lot of time making and installing the vinyl gap seal that goes on the bottom of the door. The finished piece looks great. Meanwhile, Mark and new member Lewis worked on using a drill to enlarge slightly the holes in the shoulder harness fittings. We discovered last time that the holes did not match the holes in the harness attach fittings. It was a tricky job since there wasn't much room to work with. They had to remove and reinstall the baggage compartment lid to get it done. Several trim pieces were also installed or made ready to install. Jerry fabricated a hole finder in order to locate the places to drill holes in the new trim pieces. The hole finder is going to get a lot of use since we have a lot of new fairings and trim that will need holes drilled. We also began the process of having folks sign the plane. Everyone who has contributed any work on the plane, no matter how small, should stop by to add their signature. The next work session will be Wednesday, September 11 at 9:00.
