Good progress was made on several projects today. Jerry spent quite a bit of time reworking the cabin heat cable attachment. He finally succeeded in getting it to work properly. The eyebrow baffles also got a lot of attention. As mentioned last time, the new plugs do not fit under the rear end of the baffles, making it necessary to cut holes in the baffles for the plugs to stick out. This involved installing, marking, removing, and drilling or filing the baffles multiple times, gradually shaping the holes to perfectly align with the plugs. Robert also crimped new ring terminals on the mag wires and connected them to the mags. Meanwhile, at the other end of the plane, the rudder was centered and the rudder cable turnbuckles adjusted and safety wired. Neil Wright and his wife came by to inspect our progress and look over some of the paperwork. The next work session will be Wednesday, August 7th at 9:00.
