Cub Work Session #246

Work resumed on the Cub today. On Tuesday, we applied the final coat of Silver Poly-Spray to the fuselage. Only the white and Yellow coats remain. So the fuselage will be returning to the chapter hangar soon. Today we worked on some of the remaining details that will go into final assembly. The cabin heat box and gascolator are attached to the firewall and are much easier to install before the boot cowl is put on. We made progress on that task. On the engine, the freshly painted carb heat box was installed and the valve covers replaced with a newer type. The muffler shroud and related parts also got some attention. There are several repairs that need to be made as well as some cleaning and painting. We also retrieved the seat cushions from the Zodiac hangar. They haven?t been looked at since we got the Cub three years ago. Chris graciously volunteered to see if they could be salvaged. The next work session will be Saturday, April 20th at 9:30.
