Cub Work Sessions #187 & 188

We had two special visitors to the work session on Saturday. Tom Young came by, inspected our progress, and contributed some good tips and advice. A Young Eagle and his family also joined us along with Mark Gosselin. Jerry took the young man up in the Zodiac for his Young Eagle flight. On Wednesday, work continued on the ailerons which are both nearing completion. Mike worked on the new lower cowling. The air intake at the front of the cowling had originally been riveted in place, but Jerry and Mike modified it by drilling out the rivets and replacing them with plate nuts and screws. This will make removal and installation of the cowlings much easier. After much practice, rib lacing was finally begun on the wing. It is a slow process. We only got two and a half ribs laced today. The next work session will be Saturday, August 18th at 9:30.
