Cub Work Session #179

On Saturday the last of the gluing and trimming was completed on the wing. The next task was to do an initial shrinking of the fabric with irons at 250 degrees. The result is that it now really looks like a wing! The next step will be make small cut-outs for strut fittings and then do a final ironing of the fabric at 350 degrees. Meanwhile, the ailerons were prepped for covering by applying Poly-Brush to all the metal surfaces and anti-chafe tape to sharp edges. Fabric inserts were also glued into the end ribs. Since the last report, Jerry and Mike sprayed another full coat of Poly-Brush on all of the control surfaces. The next step will be two cross coats of silver Poly-Spray which will be done when the weather returns to something reasonable. There will be no work session on July 4th due to the holiday. The next work session will be Saturday, July 7th at 9:30.
