Although we had not intended to meet on Wednesday the 22nd, the paint shop called to say the fuselage and struts were ready. So we quickly gathered available people, including Wally with his truck, and retrieved the plane. Once again, the shop did a beautiful job. On Saturday we continued work on painting engine parts and started some early fabric work. We had earlier attached a sheet of fabric to a frame in order to make a panel from which we could cut the many patches needed for inspection plates and such. To shrink the fabric, we first had to calibrate the iron, which turned out to be something of a challenge. The problem turned out to be inaccurate thermometers. Finally, the third thermometer we tried proved adequate and we were able to shrink the panel. The panel was then given a coat of Polybrush. The next work session will be Wednesday, November 29th at 9:30.
