Saturday, October 21st. The main task today was the removal and storage of the wings. We only had five people this morning but we still managed to get it all done. Jury struts came off first followed by cables and pulleys and then the wing struts. Finally, the wing spar bolts came out and the wings were off. We then carried each wing down to the Cub hangar for storage. Again, all parts and hardware were carefully labeled and bagged for the benefit of final assembly. We still had a little time to work on the fuselage, getting it ready for the paint shop, but there is still much more to do on that. Neil Wright and his wife stopped by to see our progress but missed seeing the Cub with its wings on. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wednesday, October 25th. Today we completed the disassembly of the fuselage cabin area. Rudder pedals, brake pedals, brake master cylinders, and floorboards all came out. Everything was carefully labeled and bagged. In preparation for painting, trim cables and the elevator bell crank assembly were masked. The new disk brakes were also removed and the tail feathers were covered in plastic and moved to the Cub hangar for storage. We made arrangements to take the fuselage to the paint shop next Wednesday. On Saturday October 28th at 9:30 we will begin the process of setting up to assemble the engine.
