The right wing is nearly complete and ready to move out to the Cub hangar. Today a series of additional braces recommended by the “Cub Doctor” were added to strengthen the new wingtip bow. The bow was then given a second coat of epoxy varnish. Meanwhile, the “simple” job of reinstalling the outer leading edge skin took four of us most of the morning. Somehow, holes that lined up the first time it was installed eluded us for a frustratingly long time. Adding the small tip skin is the last thing left to do on that wing. Work also continued on the disassembly of the left wing. That job is nearing completion, so soon we will begin the process of cleaning and priming. The next session will be Saturday, December 10th at 9:30.
