Wing work continued Saturday. Just as we were getting started, we discovered that we have a new neighbor. In the end hangar directly across from the chapter hangar is now a newly restored 1936 Rose Parrakeet. As you can see from the photos, it is a neat little airplane. I'm hoping the owner will be able to accept our invitation to bring it out for the picnic. When we finally stopped admiring the Parrakeet, we did make some good progress on the Cub. Chris Gunther took on the job of trying to get some of the varnish out of the bottom of the fuel tank using a pressure spray nozzle and acetone. He had some success, but still more needs to be done. Meanwhile, the new inboard end rib was put in place and more was done fitting compression struts between the spars. We stopped work early to clean up and move things out of the way for the picnic. There will be no work sessions next week. The next work session will be Wednesday, October 5th at 9:30.
