Work continued on the wing on Wednesday. Although the structure was found to be in pretty good shape, it was decided to remove many of the internal steel parts for cleaning and priming. We also removed the inboard end rib which will be replaced due to enlarged fairing screw holes. By the time we were finished for the day, the wing was down to spars and ribs. An inventory was then made of internal replacement parts such as pulleys, fairleads, and cables which will all be ordered shortly. Sometime this week the small steel parts we sent to be blasted should return. The next session will be Wednesday, August 3rd at 9:30. Assuming the steel parts are ready, the plan is to brush paint them with epoxy primer. Mike Hendricks constructed a drying rack for the parts and all of the paint supplies are in. We hope to set up a sort of production line for cleaning, priming and drying. The final task that day will be to clean up and rearrange things to get ready for our chapter meeting on Thursday.
