Seven members met Saturday morning to remove the landing gear and clean up the fuselage for inspection. We also spent some time cleaning the work area and moving a lot of parts over to the Zodiac hangar. The work went quickly and before noon we had pretty much competed the tasks planned for the day. At one o'clock some of us met at the restaurant for our Frederick Sport Flyers business meeting (and lunch, of course.) We continued our discussions back at the chapter house and planned some next steps. One immediate question is how to get tail section repaired and get the overall airframe bead blasted. Tom Young, who agreed to look at the tail for us, couldn't make it on Saturday, but will consult with us in the near future. Jerry is going to contact a couple of restoration shops that might do this kind of work. Our next work session will be this coming Thursday, June 2nd at 9:30. We will be cleaning and inspecting the struts and perhaps the fuel tank and some other parts with an eye to determining what is serviceable vs. what might need to be replaced. The fuselage will remain in the chapter house for the meeting Thursday evening, but will be moved over to the Zodiac hangar before the workshop set-up on Friday.
