Today was again devoted mostly to engine assembly. The remaining three connecting rods were attached to the crankshaft. Torquing and re-torquing the bolts so that the cotter pins lined up took the most time. The crankshaft assembly was then set aside and work was begun with the crankcase. New bearing surfaces were installed and then the two crankcase halves were temporarily joined in order to accurately measure the inner diameters of the new bearings to make sure clearances are within specs. Chris took home some cabin interior parts that need to be painted black. He's going to look into maybe powder coating them. The next work session will be Saturday, December 16th at 9:30.
