Cub Work Session #84

A lot of different things were worked on today. In preparation for painting, we once again inventoried and inspected the many smaller metal parts and then sorted them by final color - Yellow and Black. Wally was given the task of trying to revive our throttle cable which would be a very expensive part to replace. He did a beautiful job of cleaning and lubricating it, and he actually got it to work. Unfortunately, we?re still not positive we can use it. Chris spent most of the morning working on the wheels. We're replacing the old expander tube brakes with a disk brake conversion, so he had to remove the old brake drums by grinding off the rivets. Meanwhile, the boot cowl and fuel tank were removed and work was begun on fitting the new floorboards that Mike Hendricks made. They really look great. The next work session will be Saturday, May 27th at 9:30.
