Cub Work Session #83

Only four people could make it to today's work session. Still, we made some progress, although it was mixed with some frustration. The new boot cowl came with only one of several holes that are needed in the firewall for cables, gascolator, etc. Locating and drilling the needed holes turned out to be something of a puzzle mainly because the ribs on the new firewall are spaced differently than those on the original firewall. That project is still in progress. Meanwhile, Mike tried to set up the blasting cabinet with sand instead of walnut shells in order to clean some steel parts. In spite of all his efforts, it just wouldn't work. In the end he concluded that it was either the wrong kind of sand, the sand was slightly damp, or the nozzle was of the wrong type. Another project to be continued. On the brighter side, Wally finished putting in the rivnuts for all the plates inside the cabin. The next work session will be Wednesday, May 24th at 9:30.
